Filtration / Urea (AdBlue)

AdBlue stays clean,
the SCR system runs correctly.

The AdBlue line is kept clean against particulate, crystal formation and urea-related chemical effects. Fil Filter urea filters preserve fluid cleanliness upstream of the dosing pump and the nozzle and support reliable system operation.

Overview

Clean AdBlue,
correct SCR dosing.

Urea solution (DEF / AdBlue) is a chemically sensitive fluid that requires attention to system tolerances. Particulate in the line, crystallisation residue or material incompatibility can lead to a risk of blockage in the dosing pump, the filter body and the SCR nozzle.

From long-haul trucks and buses to construction equipment and stationary diesel engines, every SCR system needs a filter that preserves fluid cleanliness across changing temperatures, freeze-thaw cycles and real-world field conditions.

Fil Filter urea filters are developed to filter the AdBlue fluid upstream of the injection point. The media, mesh structures, plastic components and sealing materials used are validated with ISO 22241 chemistry, SCR system requirements and freeze-thaw conditions in mind.

Why It Matters

Reliable SCR protection
against particulate and crystallisation.

The SCR system is a critical structure that directly determines emissions performance in modern diesel engines. Particulate in the AdBlue line, crystallisation residue or chemical incompatibility can lead to blockage in the dosing nozzle, a drop in catalyst efficiency and system faults.

The urea filter is the primary protection component that brings these risks under control before they reach the dosing point. Its role is not only to filter the fluid; it also supports the SCR system in running with correct dosing, clean flow and stable emissions performance across the service interval.

01

Dosing Nozzle Protection

The AdBlue dosing nozzle is one of the most sensitive components in the SCR system. Fine particulate filtration reduces the risk of nozzle blockage and supports the fluid being injected in the correct dose and the correct spray pattern.

02

Catalyst Longevity

Particulate and crystallisation residue reaching the catalyst face can adversely affect NOx-conversion efficiency. Clean AdBlue flow supports catalyst chemistry and overall system efficiency.

03

Aftertreatment Continuity

A blocked or contaminated SCR line can trigger OBD fault codes, engine derate strategies and an unplanned service. Urea filtration keeps AdBlue flow clean and helps the aftertreatment system stay within the operating window targeted by the manufacturer.

Engineering Features

ISO 22241-Compatible Material Selection

Plastics, gaskets and other fluid-contact components in the filter are selected with the AdBlue / DEF chemistry and the requirements of ISO 22241 in mind. The objective is reliable filtration without affecting fluid quality.

Fine Filtration Grade

A fine filtration structure helps protect the SCR dosing module and the dosing nozzle against the risk of particulate-driven blockage. AdBlue flow is maintained in a controlled, reliable way across the service interval.

Chemically Resistant Construction

Components in contact with the urea solution are developed to reduce the risk of corrosion and chemical interaction. This structure helps prevent contamination or material migration originating in the filter from reaching and damaging the SCR system.

Freeze-Thaw Endurance

AdBlue freezes and expands at around -11 °C. The filter structure is validated to preserve sealing, body integrity and filtration function across repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

OE-Compatible Fit

Urea filters are developed around the dimensional, connection and service requirements of the SCR module. OE design boundaries are taken into account to deliver correct seating, reliable sealing and controlled flow inside the system.

Service-Interval-Aligned Life

Filter life is targeted around the maintenance intervals specified by the manufacturer and the operating conditions of the SCR system. The goal is to support a clean AdBlue line across the service interval and reliable system operation.

Product Families

Solutions tuned to the SCR line,
clean AdBlue for accurate dosing.

Urea filters are developed in different structures depending on SCR system layout, dosing-module design and service requirements. The objective is the same in every application: keep the AdBlue fluid clean before it reaches the dosing point, reduce the risk of particulate- and crystallisation-driven blockage and support reliable SCR system operation.
